On Monday, December 15th, DECI welcomed Miles Spann, Community Engagement Analyst, and Robert Espinosa, Community Specialist with Durham County Government for a facility tour and in-depth conversation with our leadership team.

Led by Sonja Beckford, our Director of Advocacy, Training, and Community Outreach, the visit served as an opportunity to explore the essential work DECI does in providing employment and vocational services to individuals with disabilities in Durham and surrounding counties.

Miles was able to tour our production floor, learn more about our business operations, and hear directly from leadership about the impact of inclusive employment and how DECI serves as a critical workforce development partner in the region.

This visit was part of a larger engagement effort led by Shannon Trapp, former Director of Community Partnerships & Engagement, who recently transitioned from Durham County Government and passed the
baton to Miles and Robert to continue
the momentum.
We thank Miles and Robert for taking the time to connect with us and look forward to continued partnership in building a more inclusive Durham.
