Pre-ETS

Helping students with disabilities prepare for life after high school. From classroom-based lessons to real work experiences, we’re proud to help students grow into independent, confident young adults.

What Is Pre-ETS?

Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) provide training, guidance, and real-world experiences to help students with disabilities explore careers, build workplace skills, and plan their futures with confidence.

These services empower students to transition smoothly into employment, higher education, or independent living. Pre-ETS helps students explore careers, gain work experience, and build important life and workplace skills.

Through Pre-ETS, students ages 14–22 will learn:

How Pre-ETS & EIPD Work Together

EIPD (Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities) is North Carolina’s vocational rehab program. It partners with Pre-ETS to offer tailored services like career assessments, job coaching, assistive technology, and statewide job support. Together, they give students a strong foundation to move from school into employment or higher education.

Summer Career Camp

Our Pre-ETS Summer Career Camp is a week-long, hands-on program for students ages 14–22. Campers explore career options, meet local employers, and participate in group activities that build confidence, problem-solving, and job-readiness. The program also covers financial literacy, self-advocacy, and job-seeking strategies — all designed to help students take their next step with purpose.

In a nutshell: A fun, focused summer experience where students explore careers, build skills, and prepare for life after high school.
